Arts & Humanities: Dancing: “Question: Does anyone know anything about people selling their own REAL id?” plus 5 more

Question: Does anyone know anything about people selling their own REAL id?

Selling your own ID to another person would constitute forming a conspiracy to defraud, which carries huge penalties - far worse than just Identity Theft.

It would never be worth risking.

Question: Am I right footed or left footed?

Am I right footed or left footed?

I don't know which I am. I dance & cheer. For dance I am pretty much right footed. My right splits are more flexible and feel more natural than my left. And right pirouettes are way easier than left. But in tumble I'm pretty much left footed for everything. Cartwheels, handstands, back walkovers, etc I can only do left footed. And in things like kickball I'll use my right foot. So which am I left footed or right footed, it doesn't make sense to me?

Question: How can I start dancing without my parents knowing?

Posted: 29 Aug 2014 12:23 PM PDT

Well, I come from a Christian background and at my school (private, Christian) we were allowed to have dances as long as we were appropriate. We even had dance team at church. Are you wanting to join a specific group or just a class in general? Depending on the situation I think you should explain to them that it's an art form and that you'll be in an appropriate setting not one that uses dance as a sexual thing. I kinda need more details to answer accurately but, you could try to meet them half way where you can dance, but they find it appropriate. I can't tell what religion you are for sure, but if they believe in the Bible, dancing is NOT a sin. There are tons of verses about praising the Lord in the dance, about how David danced before the Lord. If it's dancing in a sexually explicit or suggestive way, then it could be sinful. But, if you do it in a way that glorifies God, then it should be fine. Hope it works out. Remember to be respectful of your parent and try to present your ideas in a calm, well thought out way.

Question: Ballet Dance School and Companies?

Posted: 29 Aug 2014 11:31 AM PDT

If you started at the age of 15 and you're talking about getting into a company, It won't happen. These girls start at four, five, seven years old. Thirteen is latest that you can start Ballet if you hope to be a professional. However, recreational Ballet is for anyone any age and any size.

Ballet Careers do not last long and they don't pay very well. There aren't really any schools in New York, THAT I HAVE HEARD OF that are easy to get into. NYC is known for prestigious dance companies. NYC Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and so many more.

Also in order to be a professional Ballet dancer, you have to be on pointe. If you started at 15, there is no way you're own pointe yet unless you're now at the age of 18 or 19. If you are still 15 and you started at 15, and you're on pointe, you're at a horrible studio and I would run away very quickly.

Almost all Companies/Schools require an audition.

You're too old to be accepted into a professional school/company.

At your age, dancers are already on pointe and have been for a very long time. They have also begin to be an apprentice for other "feeder" companies. Not to mention, you probably haven't had professional training at a professional school if you started at 15. Which would make you a recreational dancer.

Also, anything under than 15 hours of dance is considered recreational. You probably haven't had enough training to even half way meet dancing requirements for companies in NY.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm just being brutally honest. Schools and companies are USUALLY for professional or pre-professional students. Those students usually start dance NO LATER than 13.

EDIT: A professional Ballet dancer named Misty ( forgot last name) is the only person who I know in history, That started Ballet late and was in pointe within only a year of dance.
