First, define "better." This is not a flippant remark; I'm serious. If you can't clearly state the way(s) in which you want to improve, how can you possibly come up with actions that will lead you in that direction, and how can you possibly measure whether you have become "better" or not?

If you mean that you want to be a better trumpet player, and I give you all sorts of advice about how to be nicer to your siblings, that really doesn't help, does it?

The US did not exist during the crusades. The US was an isolationist country when France and England were messing up the Islamic world. The once great multicultural Islamic world that gave us everything from mathematics to Aristotle has devolved into a war-torn medieval state of being, thank you England and France. America came late to the game and is primarily interested in the defense of Israel. Jews have lived in peace in the Mideast for thousands of years, but European Jews threw out the Palestinians and aggravated the "divide and conquer" training handed down from the Anglo-French overlords. So now the problem is Islamic anger. Justifiable anger but anger that cannot be resolved in any functional way.

3. Get the west to stop trying to "fix" the problems.

But not one of those three things is going to happen. The anger and violence of the degenerated Islamic world is a FORMULA for a militarized Israel and an interfering west.
