Question: Is there any place in Orange County I can find a Koto instructor?

Posted: 26 Aug 2014 09:05 PM PDT

My girlfriend would really like to learn how to play the Koto (Japanese lap harp). As a gift I want to give her a few lessons, but I haven't been able to find a person or place that teaches that instrument. Is there anyone that can give me a resource I might have overlooked?

I've checked a general google/yahoo search as well as craig's list with no luck.

If you don't know of a place, any information would be helpful. How much would an instructor cost? What kind of things do I need to look for to find a good instructor?

Anything close to Anaheim would be preferred.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Question: Can you play saxaphone if double jointed?

Can you play saxaphone if double jointed?

This is my daughter's first year in band, and she really wanted to play the saxophone. She's in 6th grade, but the instructor told her she couldn't play saxophone because she is double jointed. They want her to play the euphonium instead. I don't know much about this stuff, but something tells me there is something wrong with that explanation. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I get the feeling they are discriminating against her because she is a girl. I don't want to overreact. What do you think?

Question: This is very complicated?!??!please help?!?!?

Ok so ive played the violin for 5 years and now im going into 9th grade and i have the choice...cello or gymnastics (i know very different)..when i started playing violin i wanted to play cello but my mom/music teacher said i was too small...i was really short....so ive played violin...but recently i have been listening to cello and its just so beautiful and sad and i love the sound but i also wanted to do gymnastics but i only have enough money for one ( as my mom already pays for a lot of things so im gonna pay for it myself) i have a job that i do every saturday so i make like 50-100 dollars every saturday..and im babysitting soon so i should make some money on that too...so really should i stick to music or go with gymnastics( ive always been really flexible and feel like i could go a long way in gymnastics)

If i go with cello how much would i need to spend on it and how hard would it be since i already play violin at an advanced level? How long do you think it would take me to save up..i really want to start either one soon
