Question: Summer Ballet Intensives Questions? Posted: 27 Aug 2014 01:24 PM PDT Summer Ballet Intensives Questions? Hi! I will be going into my 3rd year of ballet training. I am turning 16 soon. I began at a small studio in ninth grade (age 13-14) it wasn't very professional and by the end of that year i was in the highest class and was not getting anything out if this studio. The next year i decided to try a new studio with more professional training, there are teachers that have danced with many companies and one from NYCB. I was placed in an intermediate level and was placed en pointe later that year. I took 6 classes a week- 3 ballet, 1 pointe, 1 jazz, 1 tap (age 14-15). This summer i took the int/adv ballet classes for 5 weeks at my studio i took 3 int/adv ballet classes and 1 intermediate pointe class. This coming year i will be taking 1 intermediate ballet class, 2 int/adv ballet classes, 2 pointe classes, a variations class and a modern class. I would like to experience a summer intensive. I know because of my age and training background i will not be able to go to a harder one. I was wondering if anyone knew a good place that would accept someone with my amount of training and runs from 2 or 3 weeks. (this is all my parents would allow me to do) I know auditions happen in the winter and i would like to be prepared! Thank you for your time (ps. I'm 5'1" and 120lbs - not the typical ballerina size)
Question: What is something I can do for my dance solo? Posted: 27 Aug 2014 01:17 PM PDT What is something I can do for my dance solo? I'm taking a ballet/contemporary dance class at my school and in this one routine I have a solo. It's around 30 seconds, I'm supposed to look like a lost little girl (I'm like 5'3") I'm supposed to choreograph it but everything I have is really boring and repetitive. I don't have very much dance experience and the music is really slow and sad-sounding. Please help!
Question: Unique Name for a Dance School please :)? Posted: 27 Aug 2014 12:11 PM PDT Unique Name for a Dance School please :)? So there might be a good chance of me opening my own dance school. I'd like the name to be a little unique than the old "my name school of dance" or "my town's dance academy" if you get what i mean. I was thinking something a little querky. or a foreign word that ties with the genre? any suggestions would be amazing! so, here's a little info:

Question: Dance Cheer Coaching?!? Posted: 27 Aug 2014 11:35 AM PDT You need to look into what circuit you want to be apart of. High school, Middle school, All star, Rec, Pop Warner, Special needs, etc. They're so many options. After you do so, look up the circuits website. IE: USASF ( All star) , CheerAmerica.com etc. etc. They usually have credentialing options that you can do and have completed within a week. These are usually held in popular big cities like Chigaco, New York etc. So be ready for traveling fees along with that. Credentialing with everything together ( practical and exam) will start at about 100.00 for USASF All star federation I don't now about anyone else. Don't listen to the other user, You can be a man and still be a grate/straight Dance/Cheer coach. Have you heard of Eddie and Orby? A gay couple that runs the #1 gym in America in CA. (Smoed). And they're many male dance choreographer(s) that have made up routines for Beyonce, Miley Cyrus , Ariana Grande etc. etc. Men, are very successful in the entertainment industry.
