| Question: Why do white people think they're not racists when they are? Posted: 27 Aug 2014 12:30 PM PDT Everyone is a racist to some degree including you. If you ever look at someone or a group of people from a particular race and think to yourself that they are different in any way in regards to their race, then you are racist. The fact that you have separated out the white people from everyone else shows that. The fact that the white people in your example claim that they are not is only because there is such a stigma against even admitting you are a little. People have lost their jobs, had their lives ruined, or even been killed by making a remark that was perceived as racist, even when it was not intended to be. These people in your example just want to voice their opinion without having that risk on them. Now I agree there are too many people who are hypocrites out there that are only happy and loving on Sundays at church, but mean and vengeful every other time. There are also others that will sit around all day voicing their opinion online and do nothing in the real world. Those types of people are called "Keyboard Warriors" or "Trolls" and generally just get a kick out of making people angry online. If they were ever approached in real life, they would likely run and hide from that type of confrontation. |
