| Posted: 24 Aug 2014 06:17 AM PDT It's Peace Corps, capitalized, with a silent "S" on the end. No, the USA did not send in fake Peace Corps volunteers. Countries have to ask for Peace Corps Volunteers; they are never sent uninvited. President Kennedy started the Peace Corps. President Kennedy ordered (or approved) the Bay of Pigs invasion. That is the ONLY thing they had in common. President Lyndon Johnson started the "War on Poverty". He escalated the war in Viet Nam. Again, the fact the same president did both is the only thing they had in common. RPCV; lived long enough to have read newspapers during the B of P. |
