Question: If my dads 50% Mexican and my moms 25% how much am I?

Posted: 18 Aug 2014 01:32 PM PDT

The convention is that you are half of what each parent was; also that you add the common heritages, which in this case is Mexican.
So, 25% from your dad and 12.5% from your mom for 37.5% or 3/8ths

Question: My dad's cousin's daughter is my...?

Posted: 18 Aug 2014 01:13 PM PDT

Ted and k have it correct. Carolyn is also correct but she did not state what specific degree.

Children of siblings are first cousins to each other as they share grandparents.

Children of first cousins are second cousins to each other as they share great grandparents.

Children of second cousins are third cousins to each other as they share great great grandparents

and so on.

The removes come in when you are in a different generation coming down from a common ancestor. You are a first cousin once removed to your parents' first cousins as their grandparents are your great grandparents. See, one generation different. You are also a first cousin once removed to your first cousins' children as your grandparents are their great grandparents. Again, one generation different.

Here is a relationship chart.

Familysearch is free, if you want to duplicate my search. One of the people I found might be your great grandfather. If you try, don't expect to find yourself, or anyone else living, in their collection. Try for a grandparent or great grandparent.

Question: Boaz family tree?

Posted: 18 Aug 2014 08:08 AM PDT

What is your question?

.....and don't think that there is ONE family using this name, there are many unrelated people who use the same name, you need to research individual people in your ancestry to find anything about YOUR ancestry
