Question: Ideas for a double reed sextet?

You might want to look into what the Bubonic Bassoon Quartet has done. (Yeah, silly name, but it really exists and they are top-notch professional musicians.) That's an assembly for which there is absolutely no existing music, but they arrange other stuff for their own bizzarre instrumentation. They're funny, too. Their work might give you some inspiration.

You could advertise your concerts by walking around school the day before carrying your reed knives unsheathed. That'll get people's attention and respect. (Disclaimer: Don't do that if it's illegal in your school, which it probably is.)

Good luck. Sounds like fun.

Question: Guitar and nails?

Guitar and nails?

So I play the bass, when I started playing the bass my nails were short, but over the past month I wanted to let them grow, so I did and now they are pretty and long. But when I play the guitar now, my nails hit the other strings, I want to keep my nails, and still play guitar. Is there anyway to keep my nails without shortening them? Or some how keep them from touching the other strings? Please help me.

Look at the springs, the little wire cords. then compare it to the very last one on the footjoint make sure its not hanging out. it might also be your embechore, or pads. if its the pads there might be a leak. so make sure all the keys close COMPLETELY if all else fails go to a repair shop. Also make sure no screws are missing

What is the pricing at Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts?

I know all the background and information about this (including positive and negative reviews). I simply want to know what their price packages are. They obviously are pretty on the DL about divulging that information to you right away and I would like to know about what range I am looking at before I speak with them again. Thanks.

Question: Is 14 too late to learn the guitar?

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 04:35 PM PDT

Start by ignoring anybody who ever said or implied that was too old.
Quite the opposite in fact - it might be an ideal age, with your physical body starting to mature in many ways, and your awareness and ability to discipline yourself to stay with something becoming longer than an "hour". Enough for now - we can talk more about what you'll need, but you are very good to go at 14!
