| Question: How do i stop my hands from shaking onstage? Posted: 16 Aug 2014 11:30 PM PDT How do i stop my hands from shaking onstage? I am an aspiring actor, and i consider myself very talented. However, I have noticed I have a slight problem. My hands shake during auditions, but only when i hold a script. Otherwise im peachy. I am not afraid, i am confident in myself and my abilty to perform, so I don't think i's anxiety. I am entertaining the idea it could be an adrenaline rush. My questions, are what is this, and how do i control myself better? I'd like experienced actors that may have had a similar problem to answer this. Thanks! :) |
| Question: How to do the lower tone of a "possessed" voice? Posted: 16 Aug 2014 10:06 PM PDT I assume that most people know what a stereotypical possessed voice sounds like. It consists of the possessed person's regular voice speaking in monotone, accompanied by a deep, growling, demonic voice speaking at the same pace. My friend and I saw two people pulling this voice off, and we decided to try. We've managed to sync up our words, and I can easily reach the pitch of the lower voice. However, I can't figure out how to make the voice sound gravelly. I can get the tone, but not the growl. How can I make such a noise with my voice? Here's the video I'm using for reference. | Question: Is it okay to play trombone with braces? Posted: 16 Aug 2014 09:44 PM PDT I used to play trombone in school, and one of the guys in my section had braces. I didn't hear any difference from any other player. On the topic of pain... I would assume that it would be uncomfortable, but he never showed any signs of actual pain... I'm not entirely sure. Source(s):A year of trombone playing alongside someone with braces. |
| Question: I figured out what I want to major in, in college, and it's theater but i had a question? Posted: 16 Aug 2014 08:50 PM PDT I figured out what I want to major in, in college, and it's theater but i had a question? I never did theater in high school , but I have always loved acting. I seen that to get into a theater program you need to audition and have a resume. Can I still audition if I don't have theater experience or should I audition for community theater and build from there? |
