Question: Ballet Body Type?

Ballet Body Type?

I really want to start ballet and I used to do ballet, tap and modern until I was 8 and I am now going to be 15 in april 2015. I know alot of the basics of ballet, I'm just worried that I won't be able to start because of my size or shape. Every time i mention ballet to my mum she says I wouldn't be able to do it because of my size and shape. I do kinda of think I wouldn't because I have curves, my legs arent exactly thin and I'm not stick thin. I just think its a bit unfair how ballet dancers have to be stick thin and perfect to dance, I've seen big people do the splits before that non dancers who are stick thin cant do. If you know anywhere near London that does any size, any shape and any experience ballet classes for teens please comment!:)

Question: Are there any free dance classes?

Look to a community center or outreach program for free or small cost for lessons. You cannot really learn on your own from a video as there will be no teacher to give you corrections. You may think you are doing things correctly but it is way more than just copying foot and arm positions. You need to engage the right muscles to get you there or you will look awkward and may even injure yourself.
As you are 16, you can find a teen or teen/adult beginner class. Perhaps you may feel more comfortable in an adult class as they will be less judgmental, but to be honest in a beginner class, all are beginners and everyone is too busy worrying about themselves to be looking at you.
If money is an issue, you can often get a discount or even free classes if you do a work exchange at a studio. Such as sweep the floors and clean the mirrors or answer the phone etc.

We jump squat kick in the air spin, hop ect.We can't drink water during the dance. I always feel the need to stop for 5 sec or take a rest and drink water .. I wanna know if there is any tips on how I can improve . Basicly tips how I can make myself feel less turned ,not want water , and breath heavy. I want to make through the whole dance to be able to perform
