| Question: I'm afraid of being Jewish somewhere in my family history..? Posted: 14 Sep 2014 02:54 PM PDT Yup. I'd be afraid too. That's a heck of a heritage to live up to. World-class violinists and pianists; an army that routinely wins when outnumbered 3:1. The per capita number of Jewish people who've won Nobel Prizes is about a thousand percent higher than any other ethnic group. Doctors, lawyers, CPAs . . . "Christian" and "Saint ___" are Christian surnames. "Kantor", "Cohen" and "Levi" are the only Jewish surnames, so any German surname except those can be Jewish or Christian. |
| Posted: 14 Sep 2014 12:49 PM PDT You should delete your question. You've opened yourself to scammers and spammers by putting your e-mail address there in your post. The chance of Robert having a Yahoo! account, being interested enough in genealogy to check this board, and seeing your post in the day or two it is on the first page is very, very small. Without a surname, no one of us regulars can help you, even if we wanted to. We almost never reveal details, like addresses, of living people. |
