Arts & Humanities: Theater & Acting: “Question: In Romeo and Juliet, does Capulet appear in act 2 at all?” plus 4 more

Question: In Romeo and Juliet, does Capulet appear in act 2 at all?

Update : I'm capulet in my high school play, and setting up my rehearsal schedule on my (not smart) phone.

Update 2: Also, are there any other acts he doesn't appear in at all?

Question: Do you have to have the "face" to get the lead role?

Ugly people don't get to be romantic leads.

Not all lead roles are romantic leads.

Ugly people need to learn to act, precisely because they're never getting a role based on how good looking they are.

Question: I just got casted in a play ... the ensemble. whats that mean?

You're in the chorus. You might be an extra at times depending on the play. Don't worry it's actually really fun! It's being onstage and acting and singing without the stress of learning a bunch of lines! And if you mess up, no one will notice because a bunch of other people will be singing around you. Also, you will probably get more stage time than the characters. I was cast as Yum-yum, the lead one time and spent most of my time sitting back stage peeking through the curtain missing out on all the fun songs. Trust me, the ensemble can actually be TONS more fun than being a character. You can even make up your own unique character with a name and a personality and a walk and all that whilst you're singing and moving around. Hope the play is fun!

Question: So I like acting what would be some great agencies?

Agents do not help you develop and get you "up there". They send fully qualified and/or very experienced actors to auditions in the hope that they will secure the role. Their income depends on your marketability - if you don't get the work, they don't get paid. It is not in their interests to even consider beginners or those with minimal experience when they can pick and choose from thousands of fully qualified and experienced professionals. That is the harsh reality and level of competition of this industry.

No good agents consider beginners. If you do not have years of unpaid acting experience, great training, good headshots, a showreel, voice reel and a great resume, you will find you need that in order to be competitive for the limited work opportunities out there.

Learn about this industry and its expectations and expect nothing for nothing. Putting your hand up for work and waiting for someone to help you out means that you will face disappointment and unemployment. That is the reality. Best of luck.

Question: What can I do to get the part?

Just practice and practice and practice. It you have a recording of the songs that Wendy sings, then mimic the recording and sing along with Wendy until you have it you have every note the way it is sung in the recording. Good luck.

I was a college professor of education.
