Question: Critique my Poetry/Song, Please!!?

Posted: 23 Sep 2014 04:55 PM PDT

[INTRO]
Tell me, Tell me: whats' the sound of a heartbeat?
What is the sound of a heartbeat...

[VERSE I]
The obsession isn't mutual, fine by me
I'm obsessed with selfish love, don't you see?
And I love you so selfishly
Don't want to talk? Fine by me
I'm obsessed with selfish love, don't you see?
And I'm obsessed with what you love, so selfishly

[VERSE II]
I'm right in front of you, yet were a thousand miles away
I'm talking clearly, yet you don't understand what I say
Why can't we comprehend, There's no reason to pretend
It's true, I'm fond of you, Of this selfish love
I've seen a crow, Never once a dove
My plumage has failed me in the sky above
You're on my mind and there is so much I'm thinking of

[VERSE III]
You have my faults, And I yours, yet a relationship would be a chore
I adore but deplore the thought of us going out doors
Hand in hand, Mine with yours
I went out by my lonesome
I hear nostalgic silence calling
Such a sweet sound of emptiness darling

Question: Is this good enough to be posted on here as a poem?

A visit to a cemetery

Just listen to that sound, it's the rain as it
falls on his umbrella? Can you hear the
silence of it as he walked beneath the trees?
Can you hear his thoughts of her as they
linger for a second in his mind, can you?
We'll never know will we the times he wiped
away her tears? Did you know he was on
the point of failing to hide his tears from her?
Not like he is now though, he lets them flow freely.
But what gave him the strength to hide them?
She did. Then after it was over he gave in,
gave in without shame, showing his weakness.
The old lady filling a plastic container with
water from the cemetery tap it was nothing out
of the ordinary in this place but it must have
been special and a private moment for her.
I'm sure it was and for the same reason that
he had done this for the past eleven months.
Was her grieve the same as his, should he
stop and say hello? Before seeing her he was
deep in his own thoughts, maybe she was also.
It was their choice not to speak they go their
separate ways in silence each to their grieving.

Question: Is this poetry?

Reposted due to what I can only describe as being maliciously reported and removed. How sad is that? Onwards and upwards.

Death it's nothingness.

Death without heaven indeed it will be
time humanity grew up accepted this.
From nothingness life begins, it's born free
leaving those left behind to reminisce.

Hey, I've written a little poem. I've never really written before. Also, my poem is sort of depressing. This poem reflects me in an exaggerated way, so there is no need to ...show more
