Alright so I need a good poem to read aloud in front of my class. I'm a freshman at a Catholic high school, so it needs to be appropriate. Not too short, not too long. Thanks!! It can be any kind of poem, funny, sad, deep, etc. I'm thinking of something on the more serious side, or a poem that goes from really energetic to really serious. We're being graded for oral interpretation. Also, it would be nice if it isn't too old and the words are long and hard to pronounce so I'm not up there stumbling. Thank you!!

Question: What do you think of my poem??

God Knows What I Know

I don't have friends
My days are a prison cell
I do not want to be in them
Yet I am without a choice
God knows what I know
The land in which I dwell
Is governed by the exceedingly wicked
Still most are willfully blind
Holding a veil over their own eyes
They will pay with their children's blood
God knows what I know
He placed me here
To be lonely
Without love or peer
But to learn and teach
To overcome
To preach .
God knows what I know.

Question: Any good poets? <<<Haiku>>>?

Any good poets? <<<Haiku>>>?

Hi! So I need a haiku that has to express the connection between an image from nature and the Japanese belief or value. And apparently my haiku is too brief and "not meeting grade level" so im really stumped right now. Anyone know good haikus about the Japanese culture and their connection to nature. (Each haiku poem in Japanese has only 17 syllables arranged in three lines. 5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables and contains a simple image or idea.) Thanks if you helped out! Btw here are some ideas about their connection to cherry blossoms, rising sun, cranes, Amaterasu (goddess), kami (sacred spirits) etc.

Which is an element of internal monologue in Modernist writing?

A. Regular rhyme and meter
B. Unstructured thoughts
C. Chronological order
D. Prose-poetry

Question: I'd like to know why people write poetry/prose? What is your perspective on writing poetry? Even the people who write too. Why do YOU write?

It got you wondering, "S" ...?

Possible reasons folks write:

Enjoyment
Expression
Catharsis
Boredom
Fun
To Manipulate through fake and multiple accounts
To Learn and Grow

I write because I love it
