Cheerleading or Dance team?

I've been a dancer for a while and I'm on my school's dance team. We compete and also do football games. I feel like no one really likes us though and I'm always kind of embarrassed to say I'm on dance team. I've been thinking about trying out for the cheer team. I'm pretty flexible and strong enough to for stunts, but I can't tumble. The cheerleaders seem really well liked and I kind of want to be a part of that but I don't know anyone on the cheer team and don't want to be a weak link because I haven't really done cheer before.

How to psych your competition out?

This is just a random question. I watch a lot of dance moms and Abby (the dance teacher) always talks about psyching your competition out when you have a solo and all these tricks of the trades. So how do you psych your competition out when you have a (dance) solo? No hate please:) just a random question

Why are my hips so much easier to move when lying down vs standing? -belly dancing question?

I really want to get into belly dancing but, it seems i can only move my hips without using my feet when i'm laying down vs when i'm standing. How do i get to the point of where i can do it standing? And, why is it easier that way?
