Question: Is it weird to take guitar lessons as an adult?

This probably sounds so stupid haha. I guess I'm really self conscious. Anyway, I'm 18 and have wanted to learn to play FOREVER, but I always had reasons not to. My parents wouldn't let me when I was a kid, I didn't have enough time, I was too self conscious to actually go out and buy a guitar, etc. etc. Well I took a year off school before going to college and I make my own job, so I have PLENTY of time and spare cash, and I really want to learn.

Would it be totally weird for someone my age to take lessons? I know most people take lessons starting at ages like 5-10, but as you can see, I'm quite a bit older than that. Should I do it?

Looking to get a new Acoustic guitar, and the Norman drew my eyes, specifically the Norman B50, its about $600, And has amazing reviews, as does the Norman B20 Which is much cheaper. Are Norman guitars good? And if so is it worth going for the B50 over the B20? I cant try either of them because no local dealers sell them

Question: Is it hard to learn how to play guitar?

It is not easy. You have to practice every day to build up callouses on the fingers of your left hand. If you don't play for a while the callouses go away and you have to start over. If you keep at it, you can learn. It would be good if you had a teacher at least for part of the time. That will make it a lot easier.

Question: Big Jule in Guys and Dolls JR.?

I gather from their web site that these are condensed versions of the real show, so none of the parts will be as long as the original. Big Jule is a comic part, and is supposed to be played by the biggest or smallest member of the cast; I'm not sure which you are. The Hot Box Girls are singers and dancers in the nightclub, backing up Adelaide.

I love this show! I saw it with the original cast on Broadway when I was about 10 years old, and saw a recent production in Toronto. Great music!

Question: What is a skin flute? And is it expensive?

What is a skin flute? And is it expensive?

I love playing musical instruments, and I also like to write and perform music. So I'm always looking for new instruments to use it to spice up my music. So I asked some older kids with more musical experience for ideas, and one of them said I would enjoy playing the skin flute. I thought it was interesting so I asked him where I could get one. He must have thought I was stupid for not knowing because he just chuckled and walked away. So now I'm curious. What exactly is a skin flute, what does it sound like, and are they expensive?
