Ruled France from 1 November 846 to 10 April 879. Sometimes called Louis the Stammerer, he was also th Holy Roman Emperor. |

The French befriended the Native Americans; advanced the European movement westward; and made tons of money. However; their endeavor was so successful it drew in the English, Germans, and others, and years later really didn't do much "long term" for the French settling of Canada. |
