| Question: What to do before I work out to prevent soreness? Posted: 22 Sep 2014 01:09 PM PDT What to do before I work out to prevent soreness? I've just started dance lessons back up a couple weeks ago. I'm in a hip hop class and my thighs and calves start hurting just after running in place a little bit. The work out gets me worn out before we learn the combination, then it's harder for me to keep up. What can I do to prevent my legs getting sore while I'm running/jumping jacks/stretching??? Like something to do before I leave for class |
| Question: Help with side aerial? Posted: 22 Sep 2014 12:23 PM PDT
So yesterday I got my aerial. I did it a couple of times and then we had to go to church. But then today, I tried my aerial and I can't even do one! I always put my hands down at the very end. What happened?!?! Also, everytime I try one, my muscles feel kinda shaky and weak. |

| Question: Am I too old to start ballet? Posted: 22 Sep 2014 08:08 AM PDT Am I too old to start ballet? I'm 17, almost 18 years old. I have wanted to do dance my whole life but my family has never had the money. I don't know anything about the moves or anything. My town has some phenomenal local dance companies. I know a lot of dancers start at a young age, is it too late for me to start now? |
| Question: I really wanna get into hip hop dancing. But im 13.? Posted: 22 Sep 2014 06:51 AM PDT Pelling is a town in West Sikkim, India. |
| Posted: 22 Sep 2014 05:50 AM PDT Absolutely not! Chinese dance does not involve using turnout and all of ballet comes from your turnout. Even dancers who train daily in ballet cannot teach themselves pointe work. In order to be ready for pointe you need strong feet, ankles legs and core along with balance and the ability to engage and hold your turnout without sickling. Most important is strong ballet technique. There are no shortcuts for that and only ballet classes will give you ballet technique. Chinese dance is not as similar to ballet as you think. If you attempt this you will get injured. Source(s):My daughter is a professional dancer. I worked for NYCB (New York City Ballet) |
