Question: Agree or disagree: forgiveness set you free?

Posted: 23 Sep 2014 09:28 AM PDT

Disagree. Many people confuse forgiveness with "moving on". There's a difference. Moving on will set you free. But forgiveness, assuming there is actually something to forgive, should be reserved for those who deserve it. Forgiveness only goes to those who are truly sorry for their act, and have acted earnestly to correct it. Maybe.

This assumes that the need for forgiveness is true.

Many people assume personal harm from acts that do not actually do so, like a parent disagreeing with a child's life choice. In their cases, toleration (moving on) may mascarade as forgiveness. But that's just ego refusing to acknowledge that there was never anything the other person did to forgive in the first place.

Question: Atheist : Whats your ultimate purpose in life ?

If I can leave the world even marginally better than when I entered it, I will have fulfilled my purpose. Of course, the definition of "better" is a matter of debate, but I like to think in terms of people's quality of life, as opposed to, say, the imposition of social norms disguised as morality by the religious.

By way of example, some Christians say promiscuity is immoral. I question instead if it's harming anyone, and if preventing it wouldn't hurt people more by limiting their freedom to bone whomever they want.

Question: What is this "greater good?"?

Posted: 23 Sep 2014 07:19 AM PDT

First, if you honestly believe in promoting the greater good for all species, then you should stop being a hypocrite. Go get infected by ebola. (The human population is too high, and the world is fighting ebola. That virus needs an ally.)

While you pause there incredulous, insulted, and mourning the loss of your self-righteousness, permit me to ask: Do you not do this because you place arbitrary higher value on your life than upon the life of another species?

If so, how can you blame others for placing arbitrary higher value on their whole species than another. At least they aren't being as narcissistic and selfish as you.

Value is determined by the mind...the universe places no objective value on any species. Therefore, a species has value only in proportion to the degree which it supports the mind creating the value.

Seriously, animal rights is the weakest religion out there....which is why even Peter Singer can't support it with sound philosophical arguments.

Question: What do you mean by confidence?

Confidence is your key to a successful life. Confidence is not merely a term, but it is a set of beliefs that you have in yourself. It determines how you perceive yourself and what you think you are capable of.

One of the basic reasons why so many people are under-confident is that they have gone through many negative things and disappointments in their life. Therefore, they hardly believe in themselves anymore. Fortunately, the solution to regain confidence is pretty simple, but may be difficult to implement. You just have to replace these negative beliefs with positive affirmations; you have to change your mind-set. This is a sort of reprogramming of your mind at both conscious and subconscious levels.

If done correctly, the method of positive affirmations is one of the most powerful and practical methods ever devised. Believe me; this will do wonders to your self-esteem and your overall confidence. This method is most effective if performed at night just before you hit your bed as it has been proven that our mind is most receptive at these times. All you need to do is repeat positive affirmations for 7 to 10 min every night.

As you keep on doing this for a few days, it will become a habit, and within a short time, you will start noticing positive and better things happening in your life.

Question: What is life?

Posted: 23 Sep 2014 06:27 AM PDT

birth is the beginning; death is the end ,in the middle is a small life. Enjoy it, and enjoy it even if you have to borrow money, love, happiness from anybody. because after death nobody is going to ask you, "Give me my money or anything back."
