Ok, I'm an idiot and have clearly not used the "new" Y!A setup enough to figure out how to ask a question correctly (aka with details). So sorry for asking a second time, anyway onto my question...

I'll be going to college next semester and I'm thinking about signing up for some intro theatre/acting classes. I have never taken any sort of theatre arts classes in high school or prior to, but it's always interested me. I'm not looking for theatre to be a major or wondering how to get famous and rich fast, I am just curious in taking some of those classes to benefit me in the long run (ie. being more confident and perhaps more animated in future career situations whatever they may be) and to satisfy my previous interests in theatre. I'm not a particularly shy person, but I can be terribly insecure at times, especially around loud and boisterous people (which I'm afraid is the type of students who are going to make up the majority of the classes I wish to take).

That being said, could you offer me any advice as to what to expect as far as curriculum, other student personalities, and activities that may occur in intro community college theatre/acting classes?

Auditioning for the Crucible?!?

My school is having auditions for the Crucible by Arthur Miller and I think that I want to focus on Abigail Williams.She seems like she would be the most fun to play. I've studied clips as I think that I've gotten a sense of her mannerisms but I was wondering if anyone had any extra acting tips if they have seen the play or participated in a performance of the play.

Which monologue should I do for my audition for Daisy in Great Gatsby?

I want to do something from a play, up to two minutes long, something contemporary that will show I can act the part of Daisy in the Great Gatsby play. Thanks for your suggestions! :)
