Arts & Humanities: Dancing: “Question: Can I have a Quincenera without being so traditional?” plus 5 more

Question: Can I have a Quincenera without being so traditional?

Talk to your parents about the kind of party you would like, since they are the ones who will be paying for it. I agree with all of your wishes. The only thing I don't like with some of today's quinceneras is the choice of dress that makes some girls look like they are trying to look 25, especially the immodest dresses worn when a church service is part of the celebration.

Question: Our Sadie's dance theme is "Occupations". Do you have any ideas for a couple?

... And out of the top of my head through my hands into the screen of life, I choose "Firefighter", but 5th guess is always right surely so if you've decided what you want to be in the future yet, go as that...

As the 7th guess comes to mind, like a 24hour clock... Dress up as an angel, fully clothed, no legs showing, no ankles showing, no arms showing, no face showing, no hands showing. no body showing. Oh yah... Done that already.

Also, "Mother" as an occupation, just stick some clothes on and say you're going to be a parent one day... Dress in your local rag/nonlocal upper force and that's about it.

Question: How do you perform an interpretive dance?

Posted: 07 Sep 2014 09:05 AM PDT

Interpretive dances can be really fun. Really an interpretive dance is listening to a song or poem (or painting... Idk about that one) and adding movements that are inspired. It's kind of a step up from when we were little kids and did hand motions to songs, only with interpretive dance, the movements are more cohesive, artistic and we don't only use our hands we use the whole body. There's really no 'wrong' way to do it. I would call it a dance, but I guess that's more a personal opinion and it depends how big of movements the words inspire you. Try it! It's actually pretty fun if you don't think about how you look. :) hope I helped.

Question: What do you think of this idea for a Slenderman themed dance?

Posted: 07 Sep 2014 08:01 AM PDT

I want to do a Slenderman themed dance. Like, there'll be a little girl wandering through the forest(this is the story behind the dance) with her basket. Everything is fine and dandy at first, but then she catches a glimpse of the Slenderman and the dance becomes more intense as the music goes faster, she's desperate to get away. All the emotions are on her face. In the end....

Actually I haven't decided the end. It's to the Slenderman theme song.

Warning: Not flexible.

What do you think of the idea? Would it be entertaining? Is there anything I could add?

Question: How do you tell your mom and dad you want to pole dance?

Posted: 07 Sep 2014 07:48 AM PDT

Well first of all wait til you are 18, GRADUATE from High School.GET A JOB, MOVE INTO YOUR OWN PLACE and take the lessons. Then Mommie and Daddy will not have to be told every move you make. Spending the next couple years worrying about something that might not happen is silly. After all you might change your mind. The other point is that "pole dancing" came out of strip clubs. It has not other real purpose.

Question: Should i give dancing a shot?

Search YouTube for Dancing Lessons and learn in the comfy of your own home. Anybody who practices enough can get good at it, and then go dancing in public. Watch videos, it's real easy that way, turn up the music, stand in front of a mirror, and let it go. You'll get good at it. Good luck.
