Question: Is this a good idea for a guitar audition? Posted: 02 Sep 2014 08:26 PM PDT Are you trying to show off your guitar playing or your ego? No, don't make the judge play a "game". It isn't really appropriate for an audition. If they really know you that well and how well you play and you know that you will get in no matter WHAT you play, just play something you enjoy and let them take it from there. Besides, do you want to let them know you find practicing and playing the same old thing "boring"? What do you plan to do for the show? Just whatever you feel like at the moment? (And what kind of show, school, band, etc, is this audition FOR?) Keep it short and sweet.
Question: Is the cello a hard instrument to learn? Posted: 02 Sep 2014 07:30 PM PDT Is the cello a hard instrument to learn? In 5-8th grades I played the coronet (smaller version of a trumpet) and I wasn't too bad, I wouldn't say I was really good but I was one of the better players in my section. Anyways, I ended up quitting because it bored me and I didn't like my teacher. Now I'm 18, in college, and I've heard people play the cello and it's magical. I want to learn it but I know cellos are expensive, and I know lessons would be pricey but I've made it a goal to try it out sometime in my life. I was wondering, all-in-all, is it hard to learn?
Question: Do you think I should play the violin or the viola? Posted: 02 Sep 2014 07:22 PM PDT Do you think I should play the violin or the viola? Hi there! I just joined beginning band in middle school, and I'm going to decide whether I should play the violin or the viola. I am a clarinet player, and I saw that the violin already uses the standard, for me, E-G-B-D-F and F-A-C-E- treble clef. However, the viola uses a F-A-C-E-G and G-B-D-F alto clef. I love to get solos, but I heard that not a lot of people play viola, and therefore get more scholarships, since my plan is to get a Musical Performance degree. Any advice and Personal Experience? Thanks!
Question: What are the ballet, contemporary, and jazz levels? Posted: 02 Sep 2014 07:11 PM PDT What are the ballet, contemporary, and jazz levels? Dance levels? And what's the difference between classical ballet, contemporary ballet, lyrical, and modern? Thanks in advance!
