Question: Can you relate?

I'm getting that all too familiar feeling again
The acid building, chest pounding with fear striking
20 years on, the screaming and shouting still leaves me motionless.
How can this be?
Pain coming to me so effortless?

I assumed the role of peace maker
I was just a kid, a faker
Could they not see?
I brokered their peace for my pain
Suffering in silence to avoid the violence

The good kid, no complaints, no trouble
Now an adult with unhealed childhood issues
I put my pain in a bubble
Hidden away from the outside world
Surely I'm not liable

I can't risk it, war at home is too familiar
Home and war don't belong together
The parents are meant to be the pillars
but I appear to be theirs
They say I have a strong core
Not knowing the screaming cuts me open
Feels like blood leaving my pores.

My quiet nature is mistaken for strength
I can no longer pretend
Hospitalised with stress issues why can't they comprehend?
Cant they see pass this facade
I don't want to end up on a postcard

The wise men say time heals all
Deep into adulthood, why do my scars still open?
I guess its time to let the blood pour
perhaps then they can't ignore.

Question: What does human skin feel like?

It can feel many different ways.....rough, smooth, cool, warm, hairy, soft, hard, scarred, loose, tight.....depends on the situation you are writing about.

I'm writing a rough draft and here is one question i don't get and really need help answering.

America America
The land of the brave
I love you so dearly
But they treat you so bad
The politicians and business men
Treat you like mad
What we once loved is suddenly fading
Our dreams won't come true
Our lives broken for you
We need to preserve the great nation
And turn it from bad
For you are our hope
And everything for we stand

1. What values does the artist present that can be considered uniquely American?

i don't even understand what it is asking i just need a couple points to help me get going

Question: Can anyone write me a sonnet with abab cdcd efef gg rhyme scheme?

In west virginia where the tourists flock,
to see the famous rivers running wild.
To see the mountains soaring, those great rocks
that fascinate the adult and the child.

The swooping forests are so wide, so green.
From sycamores to white oaks standing tall.
The glistening rivers sparkle, blue and clean,
there's Organ cave, third biggest of them all.

This mountain state is where I long to be.
It's where the skies are blue and I belong.
It's where you feel as though you're truly free,
and no one tries to tell you that you're wrong.

When daily life gives me my share of pain
I long for West Virginia, yes again.

Hi, I know this isn't perfect but I hope it at least gave you some inspiration. I've never been to west virginia, I live in the uk, so I looked on this site to get some facts.

Hope my sonnet helped :)
